Photo triptychs

I love presenting my portrait orientation photos like this! 🍃🦆🪾

I starting presenting my photos in these triptychs because I wanted them as desktop backgrounds for my laptop, so I could enjoy the photos I take without seeking them out specifically and in a pleasing way. This gives them a destination that isn't just social media, and by grouping them this way I can maximise how they look on a landscape orientation screen. I started taking portrait because I mostly view and edit on a phone and for social media. I then just got into the habit of it. I rarely take landscape now basically because I'm out of practice. And I'm geared to look for composition via a vertical framing. After the first few, I could really see the benefits of the triptych style - sometime I group based on a theme with similar images, other times I go for contrasting colours or abstracts shapes. I just try out different combinations until it fits. "That's the one". It's all about feeling my way and trying things out for size.

I was getting tired of all the endless noise and attention filler. This is my attempt to shift away from that. Here, I want to try and slow down and be more deliberate. I will always lean left, but in this this money obsessed and self-serving world, my mind runs rough and full of sharp edges, so I surround myself with softness just to take some of the impact. I want light, colour, texture and strange ambiance. Sensory detail to immerse my tired soul. Where some people may just see a swan; I see surfaces: light scattering on wet feathers, colour buried in white, texture, form, shadow, motion and all the aesthetic data of organic matter.  I'm not sure yet what I'll unload here. Likely mostly photographs and game captures. But I hope it gravitates to other things too in time.

Head full - taking space in some indie games

  My mind has been incredibly full with thoughts about ADHD and autism. But I'm not ready or willing to communicate that here just now. It's a confusing and alienating space at the moment. Lots of strong rhetoric and disagreement and righteous anger about this Uta Frith article. I get the anger. Fully. But I still don't feel allowed to have an opinion on it. It's isolating. I may be diagnosed as ADHD, but not autistic (yet?). I'm chronically confused and I spill out all these complex thoughts to AI, because who else has time for it. Unpacking all sorts of memories and patterns. So no poetic language from me today. Just fragmented pieces. I played some games on Steam to focus on something else. Firstly finishing Planet of Lana (a sweet platformer I wasn't expecting to like more than Neva, but I did). It was more touching and I liked the sci-fi elements. I liked the animation too.
